The end of December is coming. Were you nice in 2017? Or perhaps a little bit naughty?

Don’t worry, beauties. No matter where you fall on Santa’s naughty or nice list, we have just the beauty look for you, to express both your whimsical — and sexier — sides.

We recruited the ethereal Corinne for this look, drawing on her natural blonde glow to contrast a lacy red dress we scored from Amazon. With Corinne prepped, Betsy got to work.

Betsy erred on the side of angelic with a gorgeous braided updo for Corinne. After teasing out the sides for texture, Betsy laughed as she regaled the inspiration for the braid: General Hospital. (Yes, that daytime soap opera.) Betsy shared that one character on the show wore an intricate braid “different than anything else” she had ever seen; she knew she had landed on the next inspiration for a BE look.

For makeup, Elisa channeled the drama of a New Year’s party, complete with bold lashes and a bright blush from LUSH. She drew directly upon the braid crafted by Betsy to mirror that playful tone, complimenting the loose, windswept hair with an equally as whimsical face.  Cargo Cosmetics supplied the dark eye shadow.

For Corinne, getting her eyelashes just right for this holiday look was imperative. Laughing as Team BE listened, Corinne joked, “Lashes are important because the only difference between Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse are eyelashes.”

Whether you knew it or not, inspiration for even the most stunning of looks can come from the least expected of places (like soap operas and, to our giggling delight, Mickey Mouse.) Next time you need a dash of inspiration for a New Year’s Eve soiree or a seasonal wedding, let BetsyElisa Beauty find your personal inspiration with a look all your own.
